Investing of school dropout among middle school students

This research aimed to comprehensively address the students at the middle school level who are at risk of dropping out and determine the school dropout risks based on their perspectives. The research employed a quantitative method, and the sample consisted of students from the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in middle schools, from whom quantitative data were collected. The target universe of the research comprised all middle school students across different provinces. The accessible universe in the central districts (Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar, and Yenişehir) of Mersin province during the 2022-23 academic year, selected using simple random sampling method. Upon examining the data obtained from the research, it was determined that the students' perspectives indicated an above- average level of school dropout risk across all dimensions of the scale. Additionally, school dropout risk showed significant differences based on variables such as gender, the presence of other working individuals in the family, household conditions, student's room, quiet environment, private tutoring, internet and digital usage, grade level, school, number of siblings, birth order, grade point average, number of absentee days, and the monthly income of the family.
