Abstract (EN)

Purpose of this study is to present ; some physical , physiological and antropometric profiles of orienteering sport male athletes who are competing elite level in Turkey ,determine the situation of these profiles with competition success by examining the relation. For this purpose , antropometric measurements , body composition analyses and competition analyses of 21 male elite orienteering players are tested. In data anaylses obtained, descriptive statistical methods , arithmetic mean , standard deviation is used. Ranging in age from 25.90±2.62 ( 25.90 to 2.62 ) , 21 male elite orienteering players take part in our study .Body weight averages of the subjects are 72.30±5.57 kg and stature averages are 177.00±5.31 cm. Sportsmen?s averages of endomorphy somatotype are 2.67±1.34 , mezomorphy somatotype 4.37±1.30 and ectomorphy 3.89±1.13 . In the light of all these measurements , body compositions of male elite orienteering sportsmen are specified and somatotypes are described. Accordingly it is seen that male elite orienteering sportsmen took shape as Actomorphy body type . Sportsmen?s body muscle weights X =35.44±3.25 kg ,muscle percentages X =48.96±1.81, body fat weights X =10.04±2.13 kg , fat free weights are X =62.26±5.32 kg . PBF (Body Fat Percentage) 13.93±2.90, BMI (Body Mass Index) averages 23.10 kg/m²?, BMR (Body Mass Index) averages are 1714.61±114.95 kcal. Heart rate averages of the sportsmen during the race is 176.28 pulse per minute. As a result of this study ; no relation between sportsmen?s performance time and some variables regarding their body types is seen. Again it is seen that performance time does not predict mozamorphy and ectamorphy variables as intended, and is not at a significant level statistically . Key Words: Orienteering, Physical fitness, Somatotype, Anthropometric
