Abstract (EN)

Evalutaion and protecting some historical and art-worthy objects under the name of old artwork under the roof of the museum by the Turks, coincides with the mid-19th century. It is observed that this museum-like adventure which emerged as a product of Westernization with the Tanzimat process was showing some special features. First of all, Westerners have started to be interested in the Ottoman Empire which is very rich in terms of ancient artifacts. In this process, it is understood that the Turks met with concepts such as excavation, ancient artifact, museum and archeology. Therefore, it would be more accurate to evaluate the storage and accumulation of some of the items in the period leading to a kind of collecting or collecting, not in the scope of museum activity. In this way, it will be understood that the first steps of museology started to be taken as of 1846 despite some shortcomings as in many modernization activities. This process, in which there is a slow development in museology, will be better understood. This concept, which is prepared by avoiding sharp and simple expressions, brings a new approach from the conceptual point of view. The title of "Museology from the Ottoman to the Republic' was approved. Thus, in this study, museum activities are tried to be dealt with chronologically.
