Abstract (EN)
Primary goal of this study is to evaluate informations related to dream, which are in Ottoman history books as part of during the foundation of Ottoman Empire, its legitimacy, domination discourses and struggles by viewing comparatively. Not only dream hasn't psychological sense and function, but also it is an important motive for historiography. Because, dream is used to various goals in historiography. In addition to important studies about the process of the Otoman Empire's foundation that is very problematical and complex, dream motive has also an important place within this problematical framework. This dream motive which was used to obtain legitimacy in Turkish and Islamic History books had a similar function for Ottoman History books of mentioned period, too.
