Abstract (EN)

Çemişgezek, which dates back to prehistoric times, is one of the most important settlements located in the Upper Euphrates Section in the eastern part of Anatolia. Dataas obtained as a result of the excavations in Çemişgezek region shows the existence of a rich culture and civilization since ancient times. Due to its geographical location, which is a transition layer between the east and west of Anatolia and the north and south of the region, site has been one of the areas where many states, principalities and communities are struggled to obtain. In the history of Çemişgezek has been conquered by, Subars, Hurris, Mitannis, Hittites, Urartians, Romans, Sassanids, Muslim Arabs, Byzantine, Turkish Principalities, Anatolian Seljuks, Mongolians, Ilhanlı, Timur, Akkoyunlu, Karakoyunlu, Safavids and Ottoman Empire. The area, which is one of the most convenient place to live around Tunceli region, has been in a structure where cultures are fused and at the same time open to developments and innovations as a human being. Nowadays in Çemişgezek, the district located in the province of Tunceli, there are many historical artifacts, especially from the Turkish period.
