Nutritional status of the child workers attending to the Ostim Ciraklik Eğitim Merkezi, Ankara

-95- SUMMARY In this study 100 male apprentices' growth, energy expenditure, food consumption, condition of nutrition in the work place were evaluated. No retardation or delay of growth and development was observed. The amount of energy expen diture was more than the amount of consumption of energy for most of the subjects. In general, vitamin and mineral consumption rate was found to be below the re commended daily allowances (RDA). Height, weight, body mass indexes (BMI) ac cording to age were between the recommended standart percentiles for most of the subjects. Working status of apprentices in the work place was amongst the goals of this study. Most of the subjects were having lunch supplied by the employer.
