Abstract (EN)

This study examined the effectiveness of the augmented reality (AR) application presented with the video modeling on the acquisition of location-finding skills with navigation by individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and whether the skills taught were maintained after a while after the end of the instruction. In addition, the perceptions of individuals with ASD and their primary caregivers about the implementation process were tried to be determined. In the study, the multiple probe model with probe between participants, one of the single-subject research methods, was used to test the effectiveness of the AR application presented with the video modeling method in teaching the skill of finding location by navigation to three individuals with ASD aged 15 and 17. The study concluded that the AR application presented with the video model teaching method is an effective tool for individuals with ASD to acquire the skill of finding a location with navigation. The study both contributed to increasing individuals' independent living skills and revealed the importance of AR technology support in teaching practices.
