The effectveness of the touch math technique presented via song in teaching basic addition and subtraction processes to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The purpose of this research; In the teaching of basic addition and subtraction to children with autism spectrum disorder, the effectiveness of touch-math technique presented via songs, its generalizability to different environments and different people, its permanence seven, fourteen and twenty-one days after the end of the instruction, and the touch-math technique presented via the song were evaluated by the teachers to determine its social validity. In the study, multiple probe model with probe phase, one of the single-subject research models, was used. While the dependent variable of the study was the level of realization of basic addition and subtraction skills of the students participating in the research; the independent variable is the touch-math technique presented through the song. The research was carried out with three male students aged between 6 and 7 who were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, living in Ceylanpınar and Viranşehir districts of Şanlıurfa. As a result of the research; The touch-math technique presented through songs is effective in teaching basic addition and subtraction skills to students with autism spectrum disorder, that the students can maintain the permanence of the basic addition and subtraction skills they have acquired seven, fourteen and twenty-one days after the end of the education, all students gain these skills in different ways. It was found that the teachers, who were able to generalize to the environment and different people, and whose opinions were taken, had positive opinions about the touch-math technique presented through the song.
