The analysis of the effect of the organizational climate at private language courses on the organizational commitment of teachers

The aim of this study is to put forward how demographic features of native and foreign teachers working at private language courses affect organizational commitment and to show the effect of organizational climate on organizational commitment. The researches, which have been done in this field before, have been analyzed; however, no former research carried out at language courses has been found. The population of the study consists of native and foreign language teachers working at private language courses in Istanbul Umraniye. "Organizational Climate Scale" developed by Halpin and Croft (1963), and "Organizational Commitment Scale" developed by Allen and Meyer (1997), adapted to turkish by Wasti (2000) were used in order to collect data in the research. The correlation between organizational climate and organizational commitment of the teachers working at private language course was analyzed according to variables, such as teachers' gender, nationality, marital status, manner of work, choice of profession and seniority. As a result of the simple regression analysis to determine the correlation between the levels of organizational commitment and organizational climate, it's been found that there is a moderately strong and a positive way of correlation between organizational climate and organizational commitment.
