Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions and expectations about professional development of nurses working in private hospitals. Related literature was used to collect data. Questionnaires were also used. In these questionnaires there were 3 personal information questions, 18 questions based on the perceptions of professional development and 18 questions to determine personal opinion. Questionnaires were given to 55 nurses working in three different private hospitals in Silivri. The data from these questionnaires was installed into SPSS 18.0 software. In this respect, dispersion frequencies obtained with SPSS and factors between variables were tested and also the validity of the assumptions found on the levels of professional development and anticipatory perceptional correlate were examined. In conclusion, it is clear from this study the perceptions and professional development of nurses working in private hospitals consists of the judgements that they do not generally agree and they are also hesitant about their professional expectations. When we examine the results of the study, we can see the level of education and the average age of nurses working in private hospitals weaken the prediction of expectations. At this point if the nurses raise their level of education and professional seniority, they will gain a positive sense of expectations. This study is expected to contribute to nurses proficiency as one of the most important parts of the private hospital health system.
