The Financial problems of private instructions and the appliance of İstanbul

Education sector in Turkey is increasingly unable to fulfill both qualitative and quantitative needs. Clearly it is high time that private initiatives and enterprises need to take charge. Current private education institutions first ought to dispense with structural and most notably financial problems which, in a vicious cycle, hinder their greater involvement in education. Providing extensive financial support to such institutions can only result from projects and policies based on research. With this purpose, in the first chapter of this study, the educational status in Turkey is examined emphasizing its important role for the society. In the second chapter, private education is described including the development of private education, the types of such institutions and their place in the educational system. Incentive applications of educational investments and examples of developed countries are pointed out in the third chapter. The fourth chapter contains financial constitution of educational establishments and their finance problems. The last chapter covers a questionnaire on private schools in Istanbul in order to find out the problems they encounter.
