Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out using 10 cotton varieties commonly planted in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, with the aim of revealing the differences between the varieties in terms of agronomic, physiological and quality characteristics and determining the interactions between the examined characteristics. The study was conducted in 2022 in Bismil district of Diyarbakır province, according to the randomized block trial design, with 3 replications. In the study, chlorophyll content in the leaf (SPAD value), normalized vegetation difference index (NDVI value), canopy temperature (infrared value), seed cotton yield, fiber cotton yield, plant height, number of monopodial branches, number of sympodial branches, number of nodes of the first fruit branch., number of bolls, boll weight, single boll's seed cotton weight, ginning percentage and fiber technological properties were examined. According to the results obtained from the study; there were significant differences between varieties in terms of chlorophyll content, NDVI (GreenSeeker value), canopy temperature (infrared value), plant height, number of bolls, single boll weight, seed cotton yield, fiber yield, ginning percentage, fiber fineness, elongation, fiber yellowness value (+b), single boll's seed cotton weight, spinning consistency index, fiber strength, while there were non-significant differences between varieties for monopodial, sympodial branches and uniformity ratio.
