Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to develop a valid and reliable scale to measure the concept of "sharenting", which is defined as the behavior of parents sharing information that violates their children's privacy on social media. The universe of the research consists of parents who live in Turkey and are between the ages of 25-34 and share information about their children on social media. After the literature review, an item pool of 541 questions was created, and the first version of the scale with 56 items was obtained by grouping similar or related items. The pilot study was carried out on Google Forms with 250 participants. As a result of the EFA, a structure consisting of 8 factors was reached, which explains 53.481% of the total variance. In order to ensure content validity, scale items were sent to 2 grammar experts and 4 academicians who have publications in this field. After the proposed revisions were carried out, the scale was reduced to 41 items. In the main application, a total of 1071 participants were reached, and the answers of 214 participants were canceled on the grounds that they did not meet the inclusion criteria; therefore, the analyzes were carried out on the answers of 857 participants. Then, item analyzes were made and 17 unsuitable items were identified and removed from the scale. As a result of EFA carried out on 24 items, a 3-factor structure was reached that explained 44,807 % of the total variance. At this stage, due to the overlapping of 4 items, the relevant items were removed from the scale; the EFA was renewed and the total variance was found to be 48.693%. The first factor was named "Need for Approval" and consisted of 9 items with loads ranging from .76 to .40; the second factor was named "The Need for Archiving" and consisted of 7 items with loads varying between .87 and .31; the third factor is named as "Need for Communication with Relatives" and consists of 4 items with loads varying between .68 and .58. Following the establishment of the model in CFA, the errors suggested by the application and meeting the correction conditions are associated in the path diagram. As a result of the analysis, the values of CMIN/DF=4.49, GFI=.91, CFI=.92, NFI=.90, RMSEA=.064 and SRMR=.051. has been reached. Accordingly, all of the values met the necessary criteria and model fit was achieved. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found .91 for the total of the scale; .87 for the "Need for Approval" factor; .82 for the "Need for Archiving" factor and .82 for the "Need for Communication with Relatives" factor. As a result of the analyzes "Sharenting Scale" has been proven to be a valid and reliable scale.
