The influence of performance evaluation system on the devotion to job: An application in Samsun training and research hospital

The importance of time spent at work is undeniable. Being a co-product of thoughts and feelings it is inevitable for people to get connected to work emoutionally. The level of devotion to job therefore can be more or less depending on individual?s expectations from work, professional goals and the attitude of the employers vis a vis the employees and the opportuinities they give for actualization of the self. A major priority for any enterprise is producing quality goods and services at an optimum efficiency. So the efficiency of the employees and their attitudes towards the job are of extreme importance. Departing from the principle that when something is not measurable it is basically not manageable, the enterprises do analyses on both the work and the employees. One of the most commonly used method of analysis is the applications of performance evaluation. The basic aim of this thesis is to identify the relation between the devotion to job and performance evalution. Another aim is to put forward the relation between psychosocial factors like, ?internal motivation?, ?drive to success?, ?work values?, ?focus of control?, demographics of the individual, performance evalutaion and devotion to job.The universe of this study is the auxiliary health staff of Samsun Training and Research Hospital that numbers around 785. The collected data has been analysed using SPSS (Statistical PackageforSocialSciences) for Windows 17.0 software. The basic finding of this study is the direct relation between the performance evaluation and devotion to job. Keywords: Performance, Performance Evaluation, Devotion to job.
