Examination of Pir Sultan Abdal poems in terms of vocabulary

One of the important qualities that distinguish humans from other beings is that they are born with language skills. The ability to establish and share oral and written communication between individuals necessitates the existence of language. Language skills are a valuable ability that people are born with and maintain throughout their lives. Thanks to this ability, the individual transfers his knowledge and experience. One of these skills is reading skill. Poems are one of the tools that help an individual love reading skills and maintain them permanently. Vocabulary elements that allow increasing vocabulary are very important for those who read poetry. Because the poems read not only improve the world of emotions, thoughts and imagination, but also open the door to the emergence of new ideas. Pir Sultan Abdal also presents the messages that his vocabulary wants to convey to people through his poems. When we look at the language phenomenon in Pir Sultan Abdal's works, he used the purest form of Turkish in the age he lived in, and many of the words of Persian and Arabic origin in his works were either translated into Turkish by the public or adopted by the public. Which vocabulary elements are included in Pir Sultan Abdal's poems? The aim of the research, in which the question is tried to be answered, is to identify and reveal the vocabulary elements in Pir Sultan Abdal's poems. Qualitative research method case design was used in the study. Document analysis was preferred as a data collection tool and the data was analyzed descriptively. In the study, it was seen that Pir Sultan Abdal frequently used vocabulary elements in his poems. At the end of the study, suggestions were made for researchers.
