Abstract (EN)

This project explores the development of a cost-effective, lightweight prosthetic limb using PLA (Polylactic Acid) with an added carbon layer for reinforcement. The project aims to design a prosthetic limb that optimizes strength, weight, and user comfort by leveraging the 3D printability and biocompatibility of PLA and enhancing its durability with a carbon coating. The methodology involves Create a detailed design using SolidWork, 3D printing PLA components, and applying a carbon layer to the surface of the prosthetic limb. Comprehensive mechanical tests and user trials will be conducted to evaluate the limb's performance, comfort, and functionality. The expected outcomes include a prosthetic limb that is both durable and lightweight, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional prosthetic materials while ensuring user-centric design for improved comfort and functionality. This research aims to contribute to the field of prosthetics by demonstrating the potential of combining PLA with a carbon coating to create affordable and robust prosthetic solutions.
