Abstract (EN)
In this study, the use of advanced composite concrete technology in marine applications has been investigated experimentally.The composite concretes primarily used in building technology due to their lightweight and durability, strength during dynamic loading such as earthquake loads have a market potential increasing day by day. Some drawbacks such as weakness due to their ligthweight and water absorbsion capability can be overcome by adding polymers and the other additives.In the experimental stage of the study, the mix of composite concrete improved by some polymers additives and the different aggregates have been used as the test materials. Using of this type of materials in marine environment have some distinguished advantages such as buyancy due to their lightweight and can be used as the mortar for repair and maintenance purposes.Since the primary component of a light concrete is the light aggragate, scoria (come from Kula / Manisa region of Turkey) has been used. Because this material has some advantages such as availabilty, and cost effectiveness, it can find a chance to enter easily to the related market.It can be obtained concrete of the density of 1100 ? 1500 kg/m3 with the scoria and ordinary cement. Although it can be obtained different characteristic by different production techniques, there is always a linear relationship between density and strength of the materails. Porcelain, perlit and andezit aggregates have been used in order to obtain different concrete properties.As a the result, it has been found that the composite concretes can be used as the contruction materials for the marine applications.
