The projection of the body image in art in the postmodern age: The techno-body concept

In terms of the concepts it deals with, this study aims to address innovative concepts that have not yet found a place in the academic sense in Turkish literature, to be a source for developing artistic activities and researches in this context, and to make these concepts known by analyzing these concepts, which are still approached from afar. As of the twenty-first century, within the framework of rapidly developing technology; mirror worlds; By starting to create real world simulations and environments designed on a virtual reality platform, extreme theories have begun to develop that even the world we live in can be a simulation designed by a more advanced civilization. As a result of these developments; With the influence of concepts such as cybernetics, techno-body, new-media, posthumanism, transhumanism, simulation, semiotics, virtual reality and augmented reality, innovative artistic approaches such as cyborgism, video-art, interactive art have developed in line with the fusion of technology and art. These philosophical and artistic approaches, which are not well known in the international sense yet, are regarded as hesitant by some circles due to the fact that sufficient information on the subject has not become widespread in the context of its social impact and ethics. The evolution of marine reptiles, which emerged with the genetic analysis of rocks 640 million years old and are accepted as the first living things on earth, gained a new dimension in the 21st century with the cooperation of human-science-technology. With the introduction of concepts such as techno-body, transhuman, cybernetics, and new media into our lives and with the influence of postmodernism, this situation has been interpreted by the disciplines of art and philosophy, and interdisciplinary art movements such as cyborgism have begun to emerge. According to the definition of the overman by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, human; It is the transitional stage between animal and superman, and man can only come out of this nihilistic process by surpassing himself and reaching the rank of superman. Based on this point of view, transhumanism is a process that has been foreseen, expected and must be experienced by some philosophers. Art, which is the mirror of social and cultural life and changes, has undergone its own evolution in this process and has been involved in activities based on discovering new senses. These changes, in addition to their good aspects, have led to new problems and situations that require long processes to adapt. The journey of man to discover the extreme points of his known self and to overcome it has been described by the artists. The process that develops with these new phenomena continues towards the future, where it will be a part of daily life, by being interpreted with the leadership of artists from time to time, overcoming the ongoing doubts and problems, and shapes today's and future understandings of art.
