Effects of potassium fertilization on some yield components and mineral nutrition of banana

In the present thesis work, the effects of potassium fertilization on some yield properties and mineral nutrients contentrations of banana (Grand Nain cultuvar) under greenhouse condition was investigated. For this propose, increasing levels of K (100, 150, 200, 250, 300 kg da-1) was applied as K2SO4 per banana plant during the growth season. According to the research results, application of increasing doses of K increased on the circumference of bunch, plant circumference, number of hands and number of fingers. The number of leaves was not affected by applied K significantly. The application of increasing K levels significantly changed N, P, K, Ca, Cu, Mn and Fe concentrations of leaves; whereas, Mg and Zn concentrations were not affected significantly.
