Abstract (EN)

daha sonra doldurulacaktıGlioblastoma is the most common brain tumor in adults. Despite all treatments, the average survival is around 15 months. Glioblastoma includes primary and secondary subtypes that develop by different genetic pathways. In this study, it was aimed to determine the metabolomics that can shed light on the development of these tumors in tissue samples obtained from patients with primary and secondary glioblastoma, who are morphologically the same but genetically extremely different, to plan personalized treatments and to evaluate the response to treatment without recurrence. 6 normal, 37 primary glioblastoma, 10 secondary glioblastoma and 5 low-grade tumor tissues were analyzed by Q-TOF LC/MS. Metabolites associated with the increase of eicosanoids consisting of lipid mediators prostaglandins (PGs), thromboxanes (TXs), leukotrienes (LTs), lipoxins (LXs) were observed in glioblastomas. Bile acids and their metabolites were found to be increased in glioblastomas. C21 steroid synthesis increased, C21, C19 and C18 steroid metabolism down regulated. Alpha-Tocotrienol was found to be increased in all glioblastomas, especially in secondary glioblastomas. In order to prolong survival in glioblastomas, targeted further studies on eicosanoid, steroid, cholesterol, bile acids and synthesis pathways are needed.r
