Abstract (EN)

In the study, 3D-CRT, IMRT and VMAT plans for 20 prostate cancer patients were compared. In 20 patients with prostate cancer, target and critical organs were contoured by a single radiation oncology and 3 treatment methods were applied to each patient. Plans were performed with a total of 76 Gy doses using 6 MV energy, with 56 Gy in 28 fractions in the first phase and 20 Gy in 10 fractions in the second phase. Study was conducted in Evliya Çelebi Educational Research Hospital and developed by Eclipse planning system including 7-area 3D-CRT, 5-7-9 area IMRT, single and double-arc VMAT plans. The doses of target and at-risk organs were compared with the dose volume histograms. In the comparison of the plans, volume percentages such as Dmean, Dmax, Dmin were evaluated in target volume and Dmax, Dmean, Dmin, V65, V60, V50, V45, V40, V30 volume percentages were evaluated in critical organs. As a result of the evaluations, it was determined that the VMAT technique produced a homogeneous dose distribution with the highest dose of the target organ compared to the IMRT and 3BKRT technique, and superior to the dose values of critical organs and healthy tissues.
