The place of sufism conceptually in spiritual counseling

In this study, modern psychology theories and concepts, which are our belief and life guide in the field of psychological/spiritual counselling, are compared with the concepts of Sufi psychology. With these comparisons; It has been revealed that Sufi psychology is a model of therapy and spiritual guidance in itself, that spiritual counselling and guidance need to benefit from Sufism and that spiritual counselling will both contribute to its development and help solve spiritual and moral problems that modern psychology cannot solve. In addition, the possibilities and competencies of Sufi psychology within the scope of both modern psychology and spiritual counselling are that a new definition can be made to ensure the development of the newly developing field of spiritual guidance in our country with Sufism, the adoption of spiritual guidance on a cultural basis by freeing it from western influence and dependency, the replacement of based advice and guidance with Sufi psychology-based counselling and guidance and the determination of its limits, and that Sufi psychology can be defined in religion. It has been revealed that there may be a field under the name of Sufism-based spiritual counselling in its own right.
