Abstract (EN)
Bolus material is a material that is frequently used in radiotherapy. Its main purpose is to prevent exposure from overdoses in both the depth and surrounding area of treatment area. The commercial bolus material, which is used in almost every treatment, has great importance to patients. 3D printer technology is rapidly evolving day by day and is being used in many areas, including the healthcare sector. In the 3D printer industry, where many different printer technologies are used, different writing materials are used according to the type of printer. Our aim is to collect all know-hows under these two titles and produce a new kind boluses in Radiotherapy with the help of 3D modelling and 3D printing technology to make them cheaper and effective. In this way, instead of the commercial bolus material used in radiotherapy, it is to make the treatment possible in a more reliable way by producing an alternative bolus material in the desired geometries and specific to the patient. 10 different filaments were used to produce bolus samples and those 10 different bolus samples were tested and compared with the commercial bolus in this study. 3D manufactured boluses in the same shape as commercial bolus were compared by using the linac device. According to results that it may be said that new bolus samples can be alternative material in the Radiotherapy.
