Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to examine the factors affecting the exercise addiction of individuals who actively exercise for recreational purposes or in neighbourhood fields in Niğde province. It was carried out with the participation of 520 individuals in total, 271 of whom were male and 249 of whom were female. A questionnaire called Exercise Addiction Scale (EAS) was used to collect the data and the collected data were analysed in terms of variables with JASP (Java Analysis Software Package) programme. Independent groups t test was used to examine the effect of gender variable on exercise addiction scores, and One-Way Anova and Post Hoc Tukey tests were used to examine the effect of exercise duration, education levels, age and BMI variables on exercise addiction scores. According to the statistical findings obtained in the study; while a significant relationship was found between the variables of duration of exercise and education level and exercise addiction scores (p<0.05), no statistically significant relationship was found between BMI, age and gender variables and exercise addiction scores (p>0.05).
