Political participation of the citizens is a vital condition for a democratic regime. Social mass demonstrations are legal rights of the citizens and the necessity of democracy as ways of showing their demands and needs. Within the context of this work the emphasis is on the way the media, specifically speaking the Turkish press, presents the events and especially the mass demonstration examples chosen, in this new era of communication. This newspaper analysis aims to underline the essential points of presentation of the different newspapers with different trends by considering the influence of the media on the creation of the political culture and public opinion in Turkey.
