The study of relationship between inspection authorities and the thinking styles of pre-school academic personnel at state schools and private schools

The main purpose of this study is to explore not only the relationship between thinking styles and locus of control situations of the pre-school educators, but also the relationship between the locus of control and thinking styles with social demographic variables related with pre-school educators.The universe of this study, where relational screening model is used, is composed of 600 pre-school educators working in randomly chosen private and governmental pre-school institutions within Kadıköy, Üsküdar and Pendik, in the Anatolian region of Istanbul, during 2008-2009 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 230 pre-school educators working in 60 pre-school institutions, which are chosen with simple random sampling method in Kadıköy, Üsküdar and Pendik.The Locus of Control Scale used in the study was developed by Rotter. Mr.İhsan Dağ adapted Rotter?s Lotus of Control Scale into Turkish.Sternberg-Wagner Thinking Styles Inventory is developed basing on Theory of Mental Self-Government. This inventory is adapted into Turkish by Buluş (2006).The statistical analysis regarding the data derived from the study were computed with SPSS 11,5. The findings as a result of the analysis were shared as tables.Key Words: Locus of Control, Thinking Styles, Pre-school Education
