Abstract (EN)

The work under study, titled "Risâle-i Rûhu'l-Hayât," was written in the late 19th century and early 20th century of the Ottoman Empire. It is a poetic nasihatnâme (advice book) that exhibits the characteristic features of mesnevi literature. With its religious and moral content revolving around the understanding of Islamic ethics, the work stands out for providing guidance to its readers on servitude, worship, and life, as implied by its title. The only known copy of Mustafa Kâmil's "Risâle-i Rûhu'l-Hayât" is housed at the Regional Directorate of Manuscripts in Konya. Based on this copy, the introduction section of the thesis provides information about the nasihatnâme genre and nasihatnâmeler (advice books) in Turkish Islamic literature. The first chapter discusses the general features of the poem in terms of its form and content, as well as provides an overview of the author. The second chapter explains the methodology employed in transcribing the text and presents the transcribed text. Keywords: Mustafa Kâmil, Risâle-i Rûhu'l-Hayât, nasihatnâme, advice, religious and moral mesnevi.
