Abstract (EN)

Vitamin A-derived isotretinoin, which is used in the treatment of acne, is a potent drug that is often used to treat inflammatory nodulocystic acne lesions. This drug, which is used by dermatology clinics, has serious side effects in many studies and in the prospectus of the drug. The aim of this study is; The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Roaccutane drug prescribed in dermatology clinic on peripheral vestibular system and Vesibulocular reflex (VOR). 5 men (16.7%) and 25 women (83.3%) participated in the study. The ages of the participants ranged from 16 to 21 and the mean age was 18.27 ± 1.26. vHIT test was performed before all roaccutane use and at the end of the third month. In vHIT, gain and asymmetry values were evaluated as overt saccade, cover saccade and spontaneous nystagmus. Also perceptual dizziness, imbalance and tinnitus of the participants were questioned. There was no statistically significant difference between the gain and asymmetry values of all participants before and after roaccutane use in the vHIT test (p> 0.05). Ovar sac, covert saccade and spontaneous nystagmus were not observed in any participant. Perceptual assessment revealed nausea, vomiting and dizziness. In our evaluation with vHIT, no effect of Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) on the peripheral vestibular system was observed
