Abstract (EN)

The recognition of Russia's identity and existence as a "State" dates historically to the establishment of Russian unity by Ivan III in 1492. From this date to the present, Russia developed military, economic and political policies for the Asia-Pacific countries both directly and indirectly. This study analyzes; the borders of the Asia-Pacific region, then explains the doctrine (Neorealism) implemented in Russian foreign policy. The study summarizes the main trends of Russian foreign policy. It examines the economic-security policy changes that took place in the Russian Federation after the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1991 and details the doctrinal changes in Russian foreign policy. Finally, the study explains Russia's Asia-Pacific foreign policy from 1991 to the present. The study comprehensively presents Russia's foreign policy approach to the Asia-Pacific up to the present, the basic doctrines and tools it utilized in this approach, and its successes and failures.
