Abstract (EN)

The debate on how to make the semantics of pure indexical terms is an ongoing issue in contemporary philosophy of language. Although the privileged features of pure indexical terms in the natural language have been identified throughout this debate, no explanation has yet been given as to the origin (or ground) of these features. This study aims to investigate pure indexical terms in terms of their origin. Kant as a philosopher who deeply influenced the paradigm that dominates contemporary semantics lies at the theoretical basis of this thesis. Our study explores the origin of the privileged use of pure indexical terms in the constitution of experience in Kant's thought. Our research critically examines Kant's view of the stratification lying at the foundations of experience. As a result of our research, we discuss the relationship between the stratification in the constitution of experience and the hierarchy between the context-sensitive terms in the language.
