Abstract (EN)

The ongoing Covid 19 pandemic has had an impact on every aspect of life, but has also had serious effects on mental health. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics, anxiety levels, intolerance of uncertainty and psychological resilience, whether or not to be a healthcare worker during the pandemic and whether or not to have been diagnosed with Covid 19. In this cross-sectional study, datawere collected from healthcare professionals working at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine between April 1, 2021 and May 1, 2022, from patients and their relatives, as well as through an internet-based questionnaire. A total of 253 people participated in the study, of which 121 were healthcare professionals and 132 were not. Among those participants, 146 people had Covid disease history and 107 did not have covid disease history at the time which they participate at our study. Sociodemographic Data Form, Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, Beck Anxiety Scale, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale and Resilience Scale were used as data collection tools. While the non-healthcare worker group had higher Beck Anxiety Scale scores, the healthcare worker group had higher Coronavirus Anxiety Scale scores. The Beck Anxiety Scale scores and the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale scores of the doctors were found to be lower than the other healthcare professionals. Since the psychological effects on individuals and societies will continue for many years even after the coronavirus pandemic is over, it is thought that his research we have done on the psychological effects of Covid 19 on groups consisting of healthcare workers and non-healthcare workers during the pandemic will contribute to our better understanding of the pandemic by comparing it with the results of similar and different studies in the literature.
