Identification of intestinal parasite in fruits and vegetables in Samarra city market

The current study is designed to recognize intestinal parasites from fruits and vegetables in Samarra City Market, for the period from November 2021 to May 2022, by collecting 1060 specimens from five markets and four vegetables farms in Samarra City.It included 800 specimens of 20 vegetables and 260 samples of 7 fruits , The samples were examined using the deposition method. And weighs 250 grams for vegetables and 400 grams for fruits,The results of the current study revealed the proportion of total vegetables contamination in 7 types of intestinal parasite phases and included the phases of the first parasites protozoan sachets (Antamoeba Histolytica 5.62%), (Giardia lamblia 87%), (Cryptosporidium parvum 2.62%) and parasitic worm eggs (Ascaris lumbricoide 9.25%), (Enterobius vermicularis 7.75%), (Taenia saginata 4.12%), (Hymenolepis nana 3%) and showed that (lettuce) of the most contaminated vegetables of these parasites was 67.5% contaminated and less contaminated (Arugula and carrots) their pollution rates were 20% and 22% respectively,The results indicated that there were moral differences in vegetables pollution ratios at the probability level of P>0.05 . For fruits, the total contamination rate was 18.06%, and included (Entamoeba historic 3.46%), (Giardia lamblia 3.84%), (Ascaris lumbricoid 7.30%) and (Enterobius vermicularis 3.46), Among them, strawberry recorded the highest pollution rate, reaching 25%, and the least contaminated one (lemon), and the percentage of contamination reached 5%.
