Abstract (EN)

When individual lives are combined with another person, many changes occur in their lives and psychology. As a result of these changes, established relations may also be harmful. The close relationships that individuals build are influencing their psychology both positively and negatively. In a marriage, which is the first of the close relations, negative events cause the spouses to be affected both psychological and physically. One of the new problems facing married individuals today is virtual deceit. Although the term is a new concept, it is qualitatively described as other types of deception in social terms and can even lead to the ending of a marriage. Negative emotions such as depression and anxiety, which individuals are being exposed to recently, frequently become evident in the context of deception in the marriage and affect the later life experiences of individuals when they are separated. As a result of investigations on the level of depression and anxiety of the spouses exposed to cheating, a relation between deception and anxiety; deception and depression are revealed. In this thesis study, the concepts of depression and anxiety, which may occur in the conclusion of virtual deception, have been examined. The research consisted ofd 125 married and 125 unmarried individuals living in Denizli province. Participants were selected voluntarily. We used personal information form to learn about demographic features, virtual deception survey to learn about their thoughts on virtual deception and Beck depression scale and Beck anxiety scale for measure variables. We used Mann Whitney U. Kruskal Wallis H. and Spearman Koreslasyon tests in the analysis of the obtained data. When we look at socio-demographic characteristics in the research; The depression and anxiety scale scores of married individuals are higher than the scores of single individuals' depression and anxiety scales scores. The scores of anxiety and depression scores are higher in women in comparison with men. We could not get meaningful results by means of socio-demographic characteristics in the research. Also, it was found that as the levels of anxiety increased, depression levels also increased in both both married and unmarried individuals. We discussed these results in the light of recent literature at the end of the research.
