Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of this thesis titled ?Visual Analyses On Political Discourse In Art?, some theoretical research is made as regards the topics chosen as problematic in line with content of the thesis, and some applications are also made and analysed. These applications focus mainly on identity crisis of the modern individual, and political interpretations of concepts such as identity, loss of identity, hybridization, mass, herd, and congregation are made.If we regard art as reflection, we must also accept that it is a means of narrative and depiction of the humans themselves, nature, and life in general. However, art creates interrelationships with social life, nature, environment, and humans in particular, and forms a new reality by creating new layers of reality beyond its reflective function. In this regard, the reality of life is not often compatible with that of art, for art is not satisfied with the present domain of reality, and so puts forth new realities alternative to life. One of the chief efforts of art to transform society, and human in particular, and its suggestiveness of new utopias inevitably and naturally link it to politics. The relationship between art and politics is, in a way, a phenomenon based on artist-politics and art-society interactions. Therefore, whereas works of art are a romantic reflection of the artists, they are also viewpoints of an individual (the artist), who feels a deep responsibility for the realities and events of his age. Art, focusing on both the individual and social, though sets out from the individualist point, is a whole set of projections comprising the social, cultural, political, and ideologic aspects of the society for the artist who is also a communal subject. When the scope of this thesis, projected on art?s relationship with politics, and the artist?s political stance as regards social life, is considered, it has become an obligation to limit the topic in some ways. In this sense, it is envisioned as suitable to to handle the topic in the examples of selected representative artists and their examplary works with an emphasis on politics. The problem of forming and using a plastic language in relation to the contents of the applications has been addressed in this thesis. Striking the plastic relationships that can carry the content in applications, the projections of forms that create the unity of language, and a search for an original language have been the chief aims of this thesis. In summary, the originality of the work is not its narrative value, but how the content has been reflected in the form, its originality and whether it has managed to pass beyond the limits of imitations.Key Words:1.Art2.Politics3.Identity4.Hybridization5.Herd
