Abstract (EN)
The Şebap Pigeon is one of many pigeon breeds originating from the rock pigeon in the Southeast of Turkey and bred for many years for hobby purposes. 6 known varieties have been identified in the Şebap pigeons, which are the cultural heritage of the region. In this study, all mtDNA was examined and the Cyt-B and D-loop regions on mtDNA were studied in order to determine the kinship relationship between other pigeon species and breeds. It was aimed to determine the polymorphism of the mtDNA control region (D-loop) sequence by oxidation by polymerase chain reaction and by Next Generation Sequencing sequence analysis. The presented study is the first to examine the Sebap pigeon mtDNA control region sequence. In the study, it was seen that the Sebap pigeon consists of a total of 17232 bp genes, 13 protein-coding gene regions, 22 tRNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA and D-loop gene regions. However, 28 SNPs were found in the D-loop region. The SNPs found were highly compatible with the phylogenetic tree, and it was observed that Sebap pigeon was in the same cluster with domestic pigeons.
