Kirikkale city perception from the points of city: A study on university students and folk

With the socio - economic conditions of today and the impact of globalization, the concept of city image has emerged. This concept, along with the city's historical, cultural and touristic aspects of increasing the awareness has laid the ground for an important position. The importance of city image is too great to be influenced by the fact that people have positive or negative thoughts and opinions about a city and that they will directly affect the visitors or investors coming to that city. The aim of this study is to determine the perception of the citizens living in Kırıkkale and the students who are studying in Kırıkkale University towards the city image. Within the scope of the study, the advantages of the city, abstract image elements and the perception of image towards Kırıkkale people have been tried to be determined. During the implementation phase, one of the data collection methods of 500 people was used. Data were analyzed by using SPSS program, frequency distributions, T-Test, One-Way Anova and cross-scale correlation analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that the perceptions were negative.
