Abstract (EN)

Complex mechanisms of epileptogenesis is still unclear. In our study we are aimed to show impact on epilepsy disease, the relation between oxidative damage and epilepsy, by comparing serum oxidative and antioxidant levels with each other and with the control group in patients with epilepsy, ictal and interictal two separate processes. The blood sample was taken once ictal and twice as interictal from the patients who diagnosed epilepsy. Blood samples were taken from the control group once. İctal and interictal biochemical parameters taken from epileptic patients were compared among themselves and also with the control group. Ictal TOS levels in patients compared to control group showed significantly higher levels. TOS levels in patients with ictal in comparision with interictal TOS detected significantly higher. KEY WORDS: Epilepsy, Total Oxidative Stres, Total Antioxidant State
