A study on the proverb and idioms which is used in Siirt Arabic dialectic

In this thesis, we discussed the proverbs and idioms used in their Arabic dialects of the Arabs living in the central and surrounding villages of Siirt, Tom (İkizbağlar), Fırsef (Dereyamaç) Fiskin (Doluharman), Snép (Çatılı), Ĥalenzé and the district of Tillo. First of all, we discussed the history of Siirt, Arabic language, Arabic dialects, and related issues. Later, after discussing the Arabs and Arabic of Siirt, we have dealt with subject of Siirt proverbs and idioms, which are our main subject. Although a few books have been written about Siirt proverbs and idioms, it is not sufficient as a source. Therefore, Siirt and the center which consists of several villages called Rıstak and the villages of Tillo made the thesis by conducting a field survey. Our aim in writing this thesis is to record, to some extent, Siirt Arabic sinking into oblivion and to explain with a proverb and idioms that it is a rich language. Therefore, before broach the subject to the proverbs and idioms which are our main subject, we opened a section about Siirt Arabic and we worked it in detail.
