Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determine the effect of different sowing dates on the yield and yield components of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) varieties during the 2015-2016 production season at the experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture of Siirt University at Kezer Campus. In the trial, two registered safflower types were used as material. The experiment was carried out in three replications according to the split parcel trial design in random blocks. After the lentil harvest, which is a pre-plant, the trial area was plowed, and then the plant was the arial made ready plant with discarrow-tear-wicker. Sowing was done by hand. In the research; crude oil ratio, crude protein ratio, crude oil yield and crude protein yield, seed weight, number of side branches in the plant, number of plate in the plant, head diameter, number of grain in the head, 1000 grain weight have been examined. As a result of the research; Remzibey 05 variety has been found to provide better adaptation than compared to Balcı variety to the Siirt province ecological conditions. Plant height (Remzibey-05, Balcı) ranged from 110,33 to 123,33 cm respectively. The first branch height in the plant ranged from 58,70 to 87,10 cm, the number of side branches in the plant ranged from 6,93 to 10,63 piece/plant respectively. Number of head in the plant ranged from 10,27 to 21,77 pieces / plant, head diameter ranged from 16,96 to 19,88 mm, number of grain in the head ranged from 8,22 to 19,63 pieces, weight of 1000 pieces ranged from 32,23 to 38,13 g Crude oil content ranged from 22.37 to 30.02, crude protein content ranged from 20,47 – 28,12, crude oil yield ranged from 10.03 to 31.43 kg / da, Crude protein yield ranged from 9,95 to 23,90 kg / da respectively. The lowest seed yield was obtained at the fifth sowing time from Balcı variety with 39.88 kg/da and the highest seed yield was obtained at the first sowing time from Remzibey-05 variety with 113,89 kg/da.
