Abstract (EN)
The cinema is an art that emerged because of scientific and technological developments. Until a certain period, the cinema that forms its own visual design elements and forms and it has also been in a process of learning and transformation with its own technological developments. By using of digital technology in film production, there has been a change in the content of films, especially the visual design features of cinema. The objective of this thesis is to find out how the developing and digitalizing cinema technology has changed the contents of the movie series "Star Wars" and whether this change has caused a general transformation in the main structure of the film since the first series of the film. The scope of the research, are grouped as 1st Trilogy (1977-1980-1983), 2nd Trilogy (1999-2002-2005) and 3rd Trilogy (2015-2017-2019); they were analyzed under the categories of "Image Technologies", "Character and Race Designs", "Planets and Places", "Machines and Spaceships", "Defence Technologies", "Creatures, Animals and Droids". The method of the study is determined as 'Grounded Theory'; by using 'Open', 'Axial' and 'Selective' coding types are examined through the 'Systematic Design' Grounded Theory category. The result of this analysis points out that, according to the first trilogy produced in a pre-digital period; the third trilogy, which has been completed recently, is produced with a production practice that has benefited from digital technology in a way that does not interfere with content in order to stick to past origins in production practices and content.
