Abstract (EN)
When cinema first appeared, it was accepted as an extension of painting art. Actually, the bringing heat to painting art wasn't a simple invention. Indeed, history proved to us in a very short time. From the first short films to the founding of Hollywood, cinema has undergone a series of contextual changes. This content exchange walked in two ways; The first is camera angles, different optics, fictional essays and symbolic images as the own language of cinema. Another branch is the storytelling of cinema and theorizing narrative strategies based on the first story films. Together with Hollywood, the transformation of storytelling into a simple mathematical account as a result of its standardization with fast moving practices and the systematicization of these narratives were examined. The first appearance of the narrative which dates back to mythology, the social structure in which developed and the first theorization with Aristotle who wrote it down, is the first topic addressed. Introduction, development, culmination and outcome content of the first theoretical structure are examined. This narrative structure was first examined through Aristotle's work with the name of Poetics. Then, the examples that theorize them today are examined. One of these narratives, Christian Vogler's Guide to The Writer's Journey is used in the last part of our study for film review. In the second part, the history of cinema which combines narrative in a different form and with its own language is reviewed briefly. First films, first directors, first narrators were examined. Hollywood cinema, in which narrative is used most functionally, is examined in detail with its historical and institutional structure and function. The genre cinema that emerged within the industrial structure of Hollywood has been examined and the Western originality of these genres has been examined in detail because of its authenticity and age with cinema. John Ford, who gives the best examples of the genre in Western cinema, is examined under this title. In the last chapter, Christian Vogler's Guide to Writer's Journey John Ford, who produced works in the Western genre, the most original genre of Hollywood, has been examined for development in cinema with five films made starting from 1917 at ten-year intervals. As a result of this analysis, classical narrative developed over time and became a part of narrative language in cinema. This formal structure has reached the level to interfere with the content of the films.
