Abstract (EN)
İn this thesis; ; The comparison of the Aşk-ı Memnu novel with it?s movie in the way of the conflict of generation as part of novel adaptation to cinema has been handled. Accordingly, the adaptation of literature pieces, generally, novels to cinema is a problematical matter. Because while novels, written texts are reproducing in the cinema language, a problem arises from the meaning creation periods of cinema and novel. This work has been done with the aim of comprehension and explanation of the differences between the movie and novel while adapting to cinema for their own natures of literature and cinema like Aşk-ı Memnu movie and novel. And the comparison of the movie with the novel in the way of the conflict of generation has been done because it is thought that the conflict of generation has strong effect in the reasons and results of the events in the story line of the novel.Key Words: cinema, novel, adaptation, generation gap?
