Dr. Ruhi ERSOYFebruary 2007, 386 pagesİn this study, we have treated Sivas?s anecdotes which formerly publishedand examined as a small chapter. The characteristic of this study is the anindependent and local one in relation to the context centered theories. İn this field.The general titles of the thesis are those: A conceptual approach toAnecdotes, constructive and functional classifications, Sivas anecdotes in the lightof fundemental paradigms of performance theory, text, contact persons, dictionariesand sources.Anecdotes are folkloric products flourishing in related to narration. At thetime of compiling from their fields, anecdotes have to be determined with theirfunctions, oral textures, contexts and texts. Merely compilation of the text means thelack of evaluation of the anecdotes. Since, any presentations of folkloric productsare unique texts and not independently thought from their creators and creativecontexts. İn this regard, contact persons and narrations in their contexts are placedon this study in the perspective of what they undertake in the social life.Key words: anecdote, structure, contact person, theory, function, context.
