Adaptation difficulties and problems of Syrian migrants living in Siverek

Over the years, immigration has raised various problems for all countries. It would not be right to say anything even about the definition of migration. The reasons for migration differ according to people and events. Migration should be evaluated according to its specific norms. Migration in Turkey has found the debate in recent years with the arrival of Syrians. Thereafter a forced migration, immigrant's asylum seekers' position and their ambiguous distribution within the country have created various problems. Especially, the educational status and adaptation of immigrant children are very important. Since 2011, the population of children coming to the country and born here has been quite high. This study focuses on education opportunities and adaptations of immigrant children in Turkey who came from Syria. It also focuses on the language learning process which is the main problem in the field. Not knowing the language causes many difficulties for both children and their families. Since the arrival of Syrian refugees, the issue of migration has been handled in different ways. However, the solutions to the problems remained inadequate. Despite the clarification of certain problems, the main goal of the solution was the discussion. The importance of inviting the Family Counseling to work for Syrian refugees in Turkey is one the main concerns of this study. Qualitative research method was used and in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 Syrian refugee families. The findings are supported by word frequency and content analysis. All the situations created by the migration situation are discussed in detail. As a result, it was found out that families and children had difficulties in adaptation because of language problems. The opportunity to receive education remains another main problem for families and children.
