Abstract (EN)

The humanity has seeked an ideal form of government since the emergence of the administrator-the administrated relationship in social life. In historical process, people have formed a system, called democracy, and political parties, as the implementing agency of this system. However, today, we know that many problems remain in the functioning of democracy today. Nevertheless, in history, it is well known that once parties and/or power have been conquered by political elites in the name of democracy through democratic ways, they keep these political structures under siege throughout their lives. According to this study, the primary reason why democracy does not function in a healthy way is that the political parties, who are tasked with adoption and implementation of freedom, equality and brotherhood, which are the cornerstones of democracy, at every point of the social structure at any time. Accordingly, It is not possible to expect democratic governance and positive results from the parties that do not implement the most basic principles of democracy on their own grounds. This is directly related to the discussions of intra-party democracy and the formation of party elites. In this context, this study discuss the leader authoriatrianism and oligarchic structures in political parties as a reason for the malfunction of democracy.
