Comparison of self-efficacy and proffesional satisfaction levels of teachers with and foreign student in their class: Adana example

In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and professional satisfaction levels of teachers who have and do not have foreign students in their class working in secondary schools in Seyhan district of Adana province in the 2020-2021 academic year. In this context, teachers in secondary schools in Seyhan district of Adana on the data obtained in the class of foreign students for foreign students in class and the ones that are in the class with purposive sampling method to separate and separately identified in 151 and 149 in the class that are not available for foreign students foreign students applied for a total of 300 teachers with scales were collected. The application form consists of three scales: a 9-point demographic information form, a 24-point teacher self-efficacy scale and a 20-point professional satisfaction scale. Data from participants was analyzed with SPSS. Data analyses were performed for both scales based on both the total score and the scores obtained from the lower dimensions. Parametric tests were used because of the normal distribution of this study using the relational scanning method. In this direction, the t-test was used to compare quantitative continuous data between the averages of two independent groups, and the ANOVA test was used to compare quantitative continuous data between the averages of more than two independent groups. After the ANOVA test, Tukey and Tamhane's test were used as complementary post hoc analysis to determine the differences. Pearson correlation analysis was also applied among the continuous variables of the study. It is understood that there is no difference in the self-efficacy of the teachers who have foreign students in their class compared to the teachers who do not have foreign students in their class. Again, it is understood that there is no significant difference between the professional satisfaction of teachers who have foreign students in their classes and those who do not have foreign students in their classes. On the other hand, the demographic variables; It is understood that there is a significant difference between their ages, marital status, number of children, length of service and monthly income levels.
