Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relationships between Borderline Personality Disorder (Borderline Personality Disorder) (BPD) and Bipolar II (BD II) Disorder will be examined based on projective methods and psychodynamic theory. The relationship and comparison between the two psychopathologies will be made within the scope of affect, self-representation, impulsivity and defense mechanisms, and whether people differ in terms of these variables will be examined in the context of psychodynamic theory. The participants in the study consisted of 60 people who were diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (30 patients) and BD II (30 patients) according to DSM- 5 diagnostic criteria. Participants are people aged 18-65 who are matched in citizenship and language. In the study, for applications, Data were collected from cases diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar II Disorder at the T.C. Ministry of Health, Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate, Istanbul Erenköy Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital (General Psychiatry Polyclinics) and Istanbul Sultan Abdulhamid Han Training and Research Hospital General Psychiatry Polyclinics. Participants included in the study were asked to fill in the "Voluntary Consent Form" and "Sociodemographic Information Form". Then, Rorschach Test and Thematic Perception Test (TAT) were applied for evaluations. The tests applied were evaluated by content analysis method adhering to the French School and statistical analysis. Relationships between Bipolar II Disorder and BPD have been examined within the framework of psychodynamic theory. As a result of these evaluations, it is recommended to look at the intensity of impulsivity, loss of boundaries and disorganization in self-representation, and specific dominant defenses to predict BPD when there is confusion between the two diagnoses. Since there is a clear and significant difference in the intensity of impulsivity, self-representation and defense mechanisms, it is thought that the two diagnoses should be conceptualized as different diagnoses, not in the same spectrum.
