Research on the relationship between trade unions and tourism as an element of intangible cultural heritage; The case of Diyarbakir

There are more than one studies on Intangible Cultural Heritage elements and Dengbej, but there is no study on the impact of dengbejlik culture on tourism in Turkey. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Intangible Cultural Heritage on tourism and tourism. Data were obtained through dengbejler and Dengbej House visitors by using the in-depth face-to-face interview technique with the semi-structured question format of the study. The findings revealed that the number of visitors increased compared to previous years, more visitors came from outside Diyarbakir, the locals of Diyarbakir did not pay enough attention to the dengbej house, visitors were satisfied with this experience, but noticed some shortcomings, dengbejs were also busy with different jobs due to lack of livelihood, but earned a small amount from the dengbej they performed, because they did not have much return, the young segment faced the risk of being forgotten due to their inability to get a profession, and it is seen that the dengbejlik culture has become a tourist attraction for visitors to choose tours and individual way here, and tourism has a positive impact on the development of dengbejlik culture.
