Tourism geography of Spi̇l Mountain National Park

Tourism, confronts us as activities with the purpose of relaxing and vacation. These activities are fulfilled by people. People fulfill these activities within the scope of time and place. At this section, tourism is included in the interest of geography. Geography, as branch of science examines the relation between human and natural environment according to its own principles and also includes tourism. Manisa, the city of the Aegean Region, has Spil Mount National Park located in town of princes. That park was announced as a national park with 6867 hectare field in 1968. The national park of Spil mount has an important value which has the high and cool features its canyons, sinkhole (doline) lakes, clints (lapis) and caves. Besides, since there are Niobe Weeping Rock, Cybele Relief and Tantalas Castle which are archeological, mythological records and caves, endemic varieties, beautiful views and recreation atmosphere with mountain weather, Spil mount attracts domestic and foreigner tourists with the result of being warm in winter in the Aegean Region and being the one of a few centers where the snow can be seen. Spil Mount National Park has had a promising future in terms of ecotourism, mountain tourism, cultural tourism, health tourism, botany tourism, camp-caravan tourism. When evaluated the existing potential of Spil Mount National Park which couldn't be came out yet, it has been thought that it will become an important tourism center for our country.
