Abstract (EN)

In this study, process of Treatment of olive-pomace oil by using Spirulina plantensis has been investigated. In the tests, the effects of initial pH (2, 3, 4, and 5), temperature values (30, 50, and 70 oC), and biomass value (2, 4, 8, and 12 g/l), on removal of olive pomace oil colour have been investigated. The surface properties of natural and pigment of pomace oil loaded adsorbents were characterized by use of FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. It has been assertained that the amount of pomace olive oil bleaching is maximal at pH 2. When the amount of adsorbent reduced, the amount of colour for unit algae ascended. However, it was seen that percentage colour removal of pomace oil increased with increasing concentration of adsorbent. Results, it indicated that this adsorbent has a significant potential for olive-pomace oil bleaching.
